Hi,
I'm Patty Nieman
An Earphones Award–winning audiobook narrator
One of my favorite theater teachers used to say that the purpose of storytelling is simple: to teach and to please.
Audiobooks do both beautifully. They illuminate ideas, reveal new perspectives, sometimes quietly change the listener, or pull them into a world they don’t want to leave.

A steady voice for stories that linger
My approach to audiobook narration is shaped by two disciplines: musical theater and professional proofreading. Musical theater informs my sense of presence, character, and interpretation. Proofreading sharpens my precision and deep attention to language.
In the studio, I focus on clarity, pacing, and emotional truth, so the performance stays grounded and fully engaged.
I’m especially drawn to stories that ask complex questions and resist easy answers — work that benefits from careful attention to tone, structure, and emotional undercurrent.
At the center of my work is a clear purpose: to teach and to please. The goal is a performance that feels natural and immersive, allowing meaning to emerge for the listener.
